DOE Next Generation EOR Project:  The significance of understanding the origins and distribution of Permian Basin residual oil zone (ROZ) resources is of high interest but is of pure academic importance unless the resource is commercially viable.  This project attempted

RPSEA I

The goal of this project was to develop a more thorough understanding of Residual Oil Zones (ROZs) in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico and to demonstrate the ability to model a lateral natural waterflooding sweep process.

RPSEA II

The RPSEA II effort is therefore a natural extension and evolution of the continuing RPSEA I work to a more regional Permian Basin expanse.  In addition, the lessons on ROZ origins and distributions can be projected to other Basins around
